Hazardous Materials and Environmental Contamination

There is no other facet of the environment that is as highly regulated and potentially harmful to humans and nature as hazardous materials and environmental contamination.

From the generation, storage, use and transport of hazardous materials to the ultimate disposition, detection and clean-up of hazardous waste and environmental contamination, there are requirements and challenges nearly every step of the way on this “cradle-to-grave” pathway. For these reasons, the staff of KBE has become trained, is highly experienced and remains board-certified in this highly-specialized and demanding field.

Particular services that KBE commonly offers its clients within this practice area include the following:

  • Facility, Site and Roadway Inventories
  • Database Surveys
  • NEPA and CEQA Documentation
  • Policy, Guidelines and Procedures Development
  • Regulatory Compliance and Reporting
  • Specialized Research Topics
  • Training and Instruction

Because the approaches to managing hazardous materials, environmental contamination and other regulated substances are commonly sector-specific, KBE has a certified hazardous materials manager (CHMM) on staff certified by the Institute of Hazardous Materials Management.
